Real-world models
Some virtual airlines follow real airlines as closely as possible, recreating their route networks, schedules and operational procedures in great detail.
A virtual airline gives individual flights a shared framework – with schedules, statistics, technology, challenges and an active community.

A virtual airline (VA) is a community of flight simulation enthusiasts that recreates airline operations in a realistic way. With simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and X-Plane, individual flights gain an additional purpose and become part of a larger overall concept.
Pilots complete flights, collect flight hours, take part in events and become members of an active community. Their flights are documented and evaluated through a shared system.
Virtual airlines can differ considerably in their direction and objectives.
Some virtual airlines follow real airlines as closely as possible, recreating their route networks, schedules and operational procedures in great detail.
Others focus on extensive economic simulations with virtual money, maintenance costs, pilot salaries or company management.
Fictional virtual airlines develop their own identity – from names and logos to individually designed aircraft liveries, route networks and operating concepts.
Every virtual airline follows its own philosophy and appeals to different kinds of flight simulation pilots.
The story of today's NordFly Group Airlines began in 2020 with the foundation of NordFly.
From the very beginning, one objective was central: to give our pilots as much freedom as possible.
That is why we deliberately chose not to use traditional economic systems with virtual money. For us, collecting a virtual currency is not the main goal – enjoying the flying experience is.
We also do not want to force anyone to unlock certain aircraft types or fly aircraft that do not match their personal interests. Flight simulation is a hobby, and that is exactly how it should feel.
Instead of restrictions, we offer as much freedom as possible while creating genuine added value for our community.
Although we give our pilots a great deal of freedom, realistic flight operations remain important to us.
This allows both pilots who prefer realistic operations and those who like to fly spontaneously to shape their own personal experience.

A virtual airline lives through its members.
That is why a friendly, helpful and active community matters so much to us. Flying together, sharing experiences and meeting new people are just as much a part of flight simulation as the flight itself.
We regularly organise group flights on the IVAO and VATSIM online networks, where our pilots fly together and experience realistic online air traffic.
Regularly changing content creates additional motivation and variety.
Summer and winter tours introduce new regions, routes and shared objectives.
The monthly Destination of the Month gives the community a new shared focus.
Exclusive awards, special community events and group flights create new challenges throughout the year.
This creates new goals and varied challenges again and again – whether you fly occasionally or complete several flights each week.
NordFly Group Airlines sees itself not only as a virtual airline, but as a community of people who share a passion for flight simulation. Our aim is to create a modern platform that combines freedom, realism and a strong community – whether you are just beginning with flight simulation or have already accumulated thousands of flight hours.
